Our Common Design Problem

“We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”
Native American Proverb
We are living at a time of multiplying crisis. Our economic system is severely damaged; we are approaching the end of inexpensive fossil fuel energy; we are at the threshold of irreversible climate change; we are experiencing unprecedented species and habitat destruction. We are at a moment where we must bring about a massive shift in the way we conduct and nourish our lives on this planet. We will not be able to continue the way we have been, and there is limited time for self directed change.
MBK Architect seeks a new way forward. Sustainability is our fundamental priority. We seek to join with our clients in a common effort to design and build reasonably and responsibly, recognizing that we do not truly own anything, rather, we are given stewardship over resources that belong equally to all the future generations of this planet as they do to ourselves.
We have a fundamental belief in our collective ability to make choices that are wise and sustainable and we will partner with any client who shares that belief and our commitment to preserving the fullest potential of all future generations.
